Almighty God, who on the day of Pentecost sent your Holy Spirit to the apostles with the wind from heaven and in tongues of flame, filling them with joy and boldness to preach the gospel: By the power of the same Spirit strengthen us to witness to your truth and to draw everyone to the fire of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Aghancon Fete Meeting
A meeting to organise this year's parish fete will be held on Monday 20 May at 8.00pm in Aghancon Community Hall.
Shinrone Select Vestry
The Shinrone Select Vestry will now meet on Friday 24 May at 8.00pm in Cloghmoyle Schoolhouse.
Old time turf cutting on Corolanty bog on Thursday 23 May at 5.30pm. All welcome.
A Service of Wholeness and Healing will be held in St Mary's, Shinrone on Thursday 23 May st 8.00pm. All are welcome to come and pray for the sick and, if desired, to receive the laying on of hands for healing.
Mill House Tractor Run in aid of Irish Guide Dogs on Sunday 26 May at 10.00am for breakfast in the Mill House. All welcome.
Diocesan Visit of the Bishop of Swaziland
Bishop Ellinah, the newly appointed Bishop of Swaziland, and Africa's first woman Bishop, will be in our Diocese Saturday 1 June 2-4pm at the Woodlands Hotel, Adare. We may not all be able to visit Swaziland, but we can visit Adare! Hear first hand, what the farm project is all about, what it means to be an Anglican in Swaziland today, and why the relationships between Swaziland and Limerick, Killaloe and Ardfert really matters. Please do attend. You will not be disappointed. If you plan on going please let the Rector know so that he can inform ahead as to numbers.
Mothers' Union Outing
An outing for MU members takes place to Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar on Thursday 6 June, followed by a visit to O'Meara's Garden Centre. Bus leaves Aghancon at 10.30am and Shinrone at 11.00am. Cost is €15. Non-members are very welcome to come. Names and money as soon as possible to Liz Edge or Ruth Stanley.
